A book design for visual artist Anna Bonheur’s Apocrief. Apocrief shows a collection of artwork around the theme of modification. The works have been created from material found by Bonheur, hence the subtitle ‘the reclaimed image’. To give every piece sufficient prominence, each artwork sits on a single spread. Additionally, each artwork is shown in proportion to one another to give a sense of scale. The cover of the book makes use of an image that is representative of the collection as a whole, and the atmosphere of Bonheur’s work is alluded from beginning to end through the use of a particular shade of red sourced from a piece in Apocrief.
